Fazale “Fuz” Rana

President & CEO

Fuz Rana is a biochemist, author, and Christian apologist specializing in human origins, genetics, and the scientific evidence for design. President, CEO, and senior scholar at Reasons to Believe (RTB), he formerly served as a senior scientist in research and development at Procter & Gamble. Rana earned a BS in chemistry with highest honors from West Virginia State College (now University) and a PhD in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry from Ohio University. He pursued postdoctoral studies on cell membranes at the Universities of Virginia and Georgia.

Kathy Ross

Cofounder

Kathy Ross, cofounder of Reasons to Believe (RTB) with her husband, Hugh, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from the University of Southern California (USC). After working briefly at Los Angeles Times, she returned to USC to work in communications and publications. She also taught evenings at Vanguard University (then Southern California College) before taking a full-time faculty position at Pasadena City College. As Hugh became less involved at Caltech and more involved in church ministry, Kathy joined him, heading up a women’s outreach team and occasionally teaching Bible studies, while also working as a freelance writer/editor. Together they launched and still participate in the ministry of Reasons to Believe. In addition to editing Hugh’s books, Kathy co-authored Always Be Ready: A Call to Adventurous Faith. She enjoys music, sports, and outdoor adventures. The Rosses have been married for over 40 years and live in Southern California. They have two adult sons.

George Haraksin II

Senior Research Scholar

George Haraksin II is a philosopher-ethicist and senior research scholar at Reasons to Believe, specializing in philosophy of religion, ethics, and Christian apologetics.

Arlen D. Nordhagen

Board Member

Arlen D. Nordhagen is a cofounder of National Storage Affiliates (NSA) and currently serves as vice chair of the board of trustees.

Christopher D. Niles

Treasurer

Prior to becoming a financial advisor for UBS in 2007, Chris Niles practiced law for 15 years. He earned a B.S. in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a J.D. from the New England School of Law. A long-time friend and supporter of Reasons to Believe, Chris enjoys reading, playing bridge, and traveling in his free time. Chris and his wife, Genevieve, live in Fort Lauderdale.

Francisco Delgado

Board Member, Scholar

Francisco (Paco) Delgado is a medical doctor with a specialty in infectious diseases. After earning his MD from Universidad La Salle in Mexico City and completing his infectious diseases fellowship at Vanderbilt University, he has been in clinical practice for over 25 years. Paco discovered Reasons to Believe in 1997 while researching different historical views of Genesis and later became a contributing author to the RTB Press book Revealing God in Science. He lives in the Indianapolis area with his French-Canadian wife, Claude, and three daughters.

James Willard

Board Vice Chairperson

James Willard is a lifelong resident of the State of Georgia where he lives with his wife and two kids in the metro Atlanta area. After selling his first information technology professional services firm in 2009, he started another company, Byteworks, which employs approximately two dozen people who design, implement, and support technology infrastructure solutions. He has a strong passion for Christian Apologetics and integrating science and the Bible to help bring unbelievers to Christ.

Kerri Madison Wolcott

Board Member

Kerri Wolcott holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Journalism from Pepperdine University and a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of Denver. She has worked for a variety of non-profit organizations in Asia and Africa. Currently, she works and co-owns two businesses with her husband Josh in addition to leading a small foundation. Kerri resides in Fredericksburg, Texas. She has been married over 25 years and has three children.

Tim Williams

Board Chairperson

Tim Williams holds a BS in physics (Oregon State University) and an MS in electrical engineering (University of Washington). He has been designing integrated circuits for over 35 years, most of that time with Cypress Semiconductor (now Infineon). His designs have included microchips for early USB devices, then for detecting finger position on a phone touchscreen, and now for microcontrollers used in a variety of gadgets—with over two billion of these chips produced. He and his wife, JoAnn, live in the Seattle area. They have four children and three grandchildren. Tim enjoys travel, writing, and creating photo–based art and has been an everyday runner for several years.

Michael Phillips

Board Member, Scholar

Mike Phillips is an economist and statistician with expertise in financial econometrics and non-market valuation. He is a professor at California State University, Northridge, and chief scientist at the Center for Computationally Advanced Statistical Techniques. He serves as a complex modeling expert witness, RTB board member, and director at Volunteers of America, Los Angeles.

Mark Clark

Board Member, Scholar

Mark T. Clark, author of Daniel in Babylon (2025), is Emeritus Professor of Political Science and National Security Studies, with many academic papers to his credit. He came to faith during his years in the Marine Corps, then launched his academic career. A contributor to Lights in the Sky and Little Green Men (2002), cowritten with Hugh Ross and Kenneth Samples, Mark is currently working with Hugh on an updated assessment of the UFO/UAP problem, scheduled for release in 2027.

Steven P. Anonsen

Board Member, Scholar

The study of how science and faith reinforce each other extends back more than 40 years for Steve Anonsen. Over those years, Reasons to Believe has played an important role in this study by showing him ways that God is revealed in science. Steve spent 33 years at Microsoft developing diverse products including Office, cloud, and various developer tools. He is now a Christian apologist with two master’s degrees, one in Christian Apologetics (2012) and another in Science and Religion (2024) from Biola University. 

Warren Brooks

Board Member, Scholar

Warren Brooks is a Medical Affairs and biopharmaceutical executive who has provided strategic leadership in development, launch, and lifecycle management of therapies addressing immune-mediated disorders. He discovered RTB many years ago when reading Creator and the Cosmos, a book that fueled his avid interest in the intersection of science, medicine, and culture, and he became an early member of the Scholar Community. Warren and his family live in Pennsylvania, where he enjoys oil painting, coffee roasting, and travel, with a focus on landscape and fine art photography.

Cynthia Cheung

Former Fellow, Scholar

Cynthia Cheung is a retired astrophysicist with a PhD from the University of Maryland and an AB from the University of California, Berkeley, both in astronomy. She has worked for 35 years in various roles for NASA space missions.

Joseph R. Miller

Former Fellow, Scholar

Joseph R. Miller is an author, speaker, and academician. He holds an MDiv from Oral Roberts University, an MASR (master of arts in science and religion) from Southern California Seminary, and a DMin from Biola University.

Peter Wyns

Former Fellow, Scholar

Peter Wyns began preaching as a teenager and has ministered for more than 45 years. He earned a DMin from North Carolina College of Theology, has served as senior pastor of four congregations, planted churches, and founded Canada’s Foundations Training Institute.

Don Wallar

Fellow, Associate Scholar

Don Wallar is a pharmaceutical, biotech, and cell therapy consultant with 40+ years in R&D program management and building high-output teams. He served on the Board of Directors of Reasons to Believe Canada for 17 years, most recently as the chair of the board.
